At the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, stated that Albania will continue to play a primary role in peace and security among all the neighboring countries of the region, while he praised the cooperation between KFOR, EULEX and the Kosovan police.

In the special session of the Ministerial, focusing on the Western Balkans, in the presence of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrel, the Minister underlined that the Alliance must react unanimously, sending a clear message for any possible escalation.

Minister Hasani praised the Kosovan authorities for accepting the EU proposal for the creation of the Association of Serb Municipalities and urged the parties to engage in constructive dialogue, as the only guarantee for a long-term and stable peace.

During the NATO Ministerial, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs underlined the importance of a strong alliance, as a cornerstone of our common security and an anchor of stability.

“I emphasize Albania’s unwavering commitment to the Alliance, to the security of our eastern wing, to the righteous fight of the Ukrainian people and to stability in the Western Balkans,” the Minister underlined.

During his stay in Brussels, Minister Hasani held bilateral meetings with counterparts from member countries such as Turkey, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Denmark.

Immediately following the NATO Ministerial, Minister Hasani will travel to Skopje to participate in the OSCE Ministerial, on November 30 – December 1, 2023.
